Picked at dawn
Harvest before the heat. Fruit leaves the tree with field heat in it, and every hour it carries that heat costs a day of shelf life. The clock starts here.
From orchards, growers and pack-houses in every major growing region to the Central Fruit & Vegetable Market in Al Aweer — fruit, vegetables and spices for the supermarkets, hotels and chains that feed the Gulf. Own cold storage. Air and sea export. Doors open at five.Fruit, vegetables and spices from every growing region, landed in Al Aweer and on your dock by dawn. Own cold storage, air and sea export.
Every row is a real lane we run. Sea from Chile and South Africa, air from India and Kenya, road from Oman and Iran. The board cycles like the one on the wall — because a wholesaler's day is an arrivals hall.
Illustrative schedule for this concept. Lanes and temperatures reflect standard practice for each commodity.
Bulk and our own pack line. Everything below is graded by hand by people who have trained on it — and stored in a room set to its own temperature.
01South Africa, Egypt, Spain, Turkey and Oman by season. Navel, Valencia, Eureka.
02Turkey and Lebanon in summer, Chile and South Africa in winter. Air-freighted at 1°C.
03Alphonso and Kesar from India, Cavendish year-round from the Philippines and Ecuador.
04Red Globe and Thompson from Chile, India and Egypt. Pomegranate from India and Iran.
05Oman, Jordan and the UAE in winter; the Netherlands and Kenya by air the rest of the year.
06The first two products we ever imported, in 1976. Still in the book, still in bulk.
Fifty years of buying teaches you the calendar. Tap any month to see what is at peak, from which origin — the same logic our buyers run every morning.
Scroll the journey. The temperature on the right is the number our loggers have to hold at each hand-off — from field heat to your loading bay before sunrise.

Harvest before the heat. Fruit leaves the tree with field heat in it, and every hour it carries that heat costs a day of shelf life. The clock starts here.
Forced-air cooling pulls the core to 4°C within hours. Then size, colour, brix and defect grading — our staff train on the same ten commodities, apple to tomato, so the grade means the same in every origin.
Pre-cooled containers only. The set-point is per commodity — grapes at 1°C, bananas at 13°C — with data loggers riding in the load. Sea from the Americas and Africa, air from India and Kenya.
Health certificates, certificates of origin and customs declarations are prepared before the vessel berths. Clearance is measured in hours, not days — the container never sits in the sun.
A cold-storage division since 2004. Each commodity in its own room at its own temperature, AEROCIDE air treatment cutting bacteria, yeast and mould, LED lighting that adds no heat, non-toxic refrigerants.
Chiller trucks leave Al Aweer from 5 AM. Supermarkets restock before the doors open, hotels before breakfast service. Same cold from the orchard to your back door.
Bulk to wholesalers, programmes to chains, specialty lines to chefs, and export by air and sea from India and the UAE to anywhere.
